Surgery
Brainlab ties together crucial aspects of surgery—from planning and navigation, to data management and intra-operative imaging. Our iPlan® software helps surgeons make the most of that data in pre-operative planning. With features such as automatic image fusion and automated workflow options, iPlan drives intelligent planning for a wide variety of procedures.
Designed for complex and routine procedures, Brainlab navigation software delivers an intuitive user interface and fast workflows for image-guided surgery. Our software offers universal tool integration and an open platform for surgeons to use the implant and tool manufacturers of their choice. Brainlab cranial navigation software exhibits the same flexibility with all major microscope vendors. Combined with Brainlab navigation platforms, surgeons have access to visualization capabilities and registration techniques through a customizable, touchscreen interface.
Driving planning and navigation to the next level is Brainsuite®, our fully integrated, workflow optimized operating room (OR). Available for iMRI and iCT, this advanced OR suite integrates intra-operative images with surgical planning and ceiling-mounted navigation. Automatic Image Registration uses the latest intra-operative images to ensure fast patient registration for uninterrupted navigation. This gives surgeons immediate quality control and the ability check their progress before concluding surgery.
Oncology
Brainlab is a pioneer of radiotherapy and radiosurgery planning and treatment delivery tools.
iPlan® RT for radiotherapy treatment planning enriches data, offers efficient clinical workflows and provides more treatment options for clinicians to choose from. iPlan RT Image features time-saving pre-planning steps, such as automatic image fusion and fast organ definition and contouring. iPlan RT Dose caters to wide spectrum of treatment techniques to help define the best possible treatment plan. The Brainlab Monte Carlo Dose Calculation software is a high-performance algorithm designed for fast, precise radiation therapy dose calculations.
ExacTrac® x-ray imaging for image-guided radiotherapy tracks tumors and corrects patient positioning with sub-millimeter precision, so patient setup only takes two minutes. The room-based design supports continuous tracking of patient movement and detects and compensates for tumor movement during treatment.
Shaping patient access to advanced cancer treatment options, Novalis Tx™ radiosurgery from Varian Medical Systems and Brainlab treats cancerous and non-cancerous conditions of the entire body with shaped-beam technology. This treatment takes just minutes out of the patient’s day—they go in, get treated and get back to life. It’s the only platform that integrates radiosurgery with image guidance, so neurosurgeons can work together with radiation oncologists to provide patients with treatment personalized to their condition and overall care plan.

Digital Lightbox© with iPlan® Net give clinicians fast, flexible data access and easy info-sharing. Digital Lightbox is an interactive, multi-touch display that can be used anywhere—the OR, office, conference room and consultation room. It makes data more accessible, while intelligent software turns data into clinically relevant information.
iPlan Net allows simultaneous or sequential planning from various locations on one server. It also works across different hospitals, making iPlan Net convenient for inter-disciplinary work. Surgeons can actively participate in critical treatment steps, when and where they want, on-site or remotely.
