Brainlab was born when Stefan Vilsmeier, convinced there was a better answer to the cumbersome neurosurgery programs, began work on the first mouse-controlled and menu-driven software for surgical planning and navigation.

More than 20 years later, Brainlab is still at the forefront of image-guided surgery and stereotactic radiosurgery. Based in Munich, Germany, with offices worldwide, Brainlab develops, manufactures and markets software-driven medical technology that supports targeted, less-invasive treatment.
