RT Patient Positioning System (X-ray)

Successful treatment of tumors means targeting areas that are subject to motion and change while reducing radiation exposure to healthy tissue.

The clinical rationale of our IGRT System is to ensure a highly accurate position of the patient and radiation field for every treatment fraction. The ExacTrac® IGRT System meets the demand to detect and compensate for patient-, random-, or breathing-induced tumor movement. The room-based design supports continuous tracking of patient movement, including IGRT verification, throughout treatment.

  • Precise patient setup in an automated two-minute process
  • Clinically proven sub-millimetric  precision
  • Treatment versatility and maximum efficiency boosts utilization
  • Room-based design for Linac independent operation
  • Verification of patient and tumor position throughout treatment

Patient comfort with Frameless Radiosurgery

Stereotactic sub-millimetric precision with clinical flexibility
ExacTrac® Frameless Radiosurgery replaces frame-based treatments, offering highly accurate delivery of single fraction treatments for improved patient comfort.

ExacTrac uses stereoscopic x-ray imaging combined with the Brainlab stereotactic immobilization system with a three-piece, non-invasive mask to provide sub-millimetric precision.

  • Improved flexibility for imaging, planning, and treatment
  • High accuracy with non-invasive positioning
  • Verification of target position at all treatment positions during the entire procedure
  • Correction of rotations with Robotic Patient Alignment in 6D

Intra-fraction verification at any time

Accurate targeting from start to finish
The treatment of tumors means targeting areas that are subject to motion and change in position and size. Motion can occur randomly during treatment. ExacTrac® Snap Verification uses x-ray images acquired during treatment delivery or between fields to instantly detect and visualize internal tumor displacement or patient movement, thus enabling real-time intra-fraction motion management.

  • Instantly ready at any couch or gantry angle, and during beam-on
  • Threshold-based margin analysis
  • High precision for single fraction treatments like cranial and spine SRS
  • IGRT solution with real-time intra-fraction motion management

Improved setup accuracy with ExacTrac® Robotic Patient Alignment

Robotic Couch Capabilities for improved setup accuracy
The ExacTrac® Robotic Patient Alignment allows precise patient setup in six degrees of freedom. Mounted on top of the treatment couch, the Robotic Patient Alignment system is fully integrated and operated by the ExacTrac system to correct setup errors.

  • Allows for automatic correction of rotational misalignments
  • Provides great level of setup accuracy
  • Particularly suitable for complex setups such as cranial,  head & neck; or spine indications
  • ExacTrac Robotics may currently be retrofitted to Varian Exact couches
