How large is the team you work with?
The Production Planning team consists of five Production Planners and belongs to the Sales Operations department.
What do you usually do when you first get to the office?
First, I check my e-mails to see if there are any urgent issues which need to be dealt with immediately. Then I go to the kitchen with some colleagues; we talk about different things and make a coffee to get ready for the day.
How would you describe a regular day as a Production Planner at Brainlab?
As Production Planner you are in daily contact with colleagues from different departments to ensure a great workflow and on time delivery.
I plan new orders to provide a delivery date at the customer site, ensure that planned orders are going through production smoothly and, finally, that they will be shipped out on time. Of course this process is associated with a lot of challenging tasks as there are several things to consider and various issues can come up which need to be solved.
What is the best aspect of being a Production Planner at Brainlab?
The best thing is the contact with lots of different colleagues as well as the feeling I get when all issues that arose from planning to shipping the order were dealt with successfully and that the customer will receive their equipment on time.
Which other divisions are you in contact with on a regular basis?
Production Planning is an interface between lots of departments. We have daily contact with the subsidiaries worldwide and with departments like Sales Operations, Purchasing, Production, Warehouse and Export. Furthermore, we are in contact with Support, Quality Management, Product Management and Research & Development.
What motivates you to come to work every day?
The great teamwork and the challenges of daily business are motivating for me. The whole atmosphere at Brainlab and the purpose of our products are great!
What did you spend your last vacation doing?
I spent my last vacation in Thailand with some friends. It was my first journey to Asia. I got a lot of great new impressions of the country and the culture. I am already looking forward to my vacation in August as I am going on a road trip to my favorite holiday destination: the United States of America.
