Patent Engineer / Intellectual Property Manager

Job Description
- Developing suitable IP strategies and maintaining IP processes with R&D entities within the Brainlab group, locally and international
- Support M&A processes from due diligence to integration of new entities
- Training of R&D employees in existing and new teams regarding IP fundamentals, strategies, tools and processes
- Support digitalization of intellectual property processes by selecting and implementing suitable digital tools
- discussion with inventors, R&D and management about inventions and their patentability; provide feedback to R&D and prepare GM decisions
- handling of invention disclosures, patent research, patent prosecution and preparation of litigation procedures in cooperation with external patent attorneys
- Close cooperation with external service providers on technical and admin level and ensuring standardization of processes among several providers
- Supporting FTO and patent monitoring processes in cooperation with external service providers
Qualifications
- Studies in medical engineering, mechanical engineering, biotechnical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, computer science and/or patent engineering
- experience in intellectual property in an international corporate environment
- Interest in technical, legal and business-related topics
- Quick understanding of technical topics in medical hard- and software
- Competent handling of the modern features of MS Office and MS Teams
- Clear and structured working style
- Excellent communication skills within an IP team, with R&D, legal, product management, GM, marketing and patent attorneys, research agencies, tool providers, in German and English
