As part of a multi-disciplinary R&D team consisting of Hardware and Software Engineers, you will be leveraging your knowledge in modern ultrasound technologies for developing new clinical solutions by utilizing intra-operative ultrasound (2D and 3D) as enabler for minimally invasive therapy guidance.
You will interact closely with clinical application specialists, product managers as well as clinical end-users for identifying user needs and for defining & implementing product requirements.
Your work will cover the complete development cycle of medical devices, from the conceptualization and implementation up to the (clinical) performance assessment of the resulting device. Ultimately, your contributions will be key for creating medical product solutions which will make clinical procedures more safe, more predictable and benefit patients in hospitals around the world.
Your tasks will be to
- guide and contribute to ultrasound feasibility and development projects, including software-based beamforming to enhance ultrasound image quality, increase frame rate and/or reduce computational complexity
- steer the design, development, and integration of new 2D and 3D ultrasound systems along the whole imaging chain (Front-end to back-end, as well as transducers and interfaces) in collaboration with internal and external partners
- stay in touch with latest developments in ultrasound technology as well as their applications for medical ultrasound applications
- collaborate with Marketing and Product Management to translate marketing and end-user requirements into engineering specifications
