Software Engineer - General Surgery


What to expect

For our growing General Surgery team we are looking for a new Software Developer. General Surgery is a young department, which was established to drive forth Brainlab’s ambitions to advance into new medical territories. Our current focus is set on vascular and visceral surgery, where we are closely cooperating with physicians and industry partners to evaluate novel surgical workflows and applications.

As a member of our General Surgery team you will:

  • Transfer ideas and concepts into prototypes
  • Support feasibility studies
  • Be involved in upcoming product development projects (conception, development, testing and documentation)

Together with this highly motivated, creative team you will have the opportunity to push the borders of medical technology.

What you offer

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar
  • Profound knowledge of software development (preferably C++) based on a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or a related discipline
  • Practical experience in image processing and application development
  • Strong communication skills and fluent in English

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in medical image segmentation, processing and visualization
  • Familiar with ultrasound and x-ray based imaging technologies
  • Experience with DICOM, HL7, PACS, HIS and related data standards and systems
  • Knowledge or interest in the area of web development, such as HTML5 and JavaScript
