WHAT TO EXPECT

Our R&D team in Munich is looking for a (Senior) Manager R&D to drive our efforts in intra-operative imaging. You will lead a newly established team with the focus of using ultrasound during surgical and interventional procedures.

Your work includes the complete development cycle of medical devices, from the inception of new concepts over to their implementation up to the clinical assessment of the performance of the resulting device.

Your contribution has an impact on daily work in hospitals around the world.

As we are planning to leverage the momentum in modern ultrasound technologies, business development with external partners as well as research in the technical domain will play a key role. Finally, we are building a new team and just started hiring software and project engineers. Developing, guiding and motivating this new team will be an important part of your role.

You will report to the Vice President R&D.

  • profound technical background that enables you to understand ultrasound research and technologies and to evaluate new product concepts and trends in the imaging domain
  • knowledge of R&D tasks and processes enabling you to mentor the team, structuring projects and to deliver against defined targets.
  • ideally knowledge in a wide range of ultrasound relevant aspects like transducer design, electronics, image processing, software development and machine learning.
  • ideally, strong record of successfully leading a small to mid-sized R&D team
  • very good communication skills in English and German

WHAT WE OFFER

  • working in a team of great colleagues who help and support each other
  • seeing your work making a positive impact on the daily work of clinicians around the world
  • Brainlab Leadership Program: an offsite training series (6 days total) and online leadership course, followed up with an annual further education seminar and regular alumni meet-ups
