Job Description

At Brainlab Robotics, we are shaping the future of surgery by developing innovative robotic solutions, bridging the barrier between the digital and physical space in the operating room. Our cross functional team brings together experts from all areas of engineering: from SW (using C++ and RUST), electronics, mechanics to medical and usability experts.

We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic Agile Coach for our product development. In this role you will be working closely together with said development team, the Product Owner, and Managers to foster and evolve a sustainable agile mindset and practices. By supporting our teams in delivering excellent outcomes you will drive increased usage of appropriate lean-agile practices, resulting in quality products and satisfied customers.

As an Agile Coach at Brainlab Robotics, your responsibilities will be to

  • Coach & guide team in creating a healthy dynamic and improving technical excellence
  • Empower the team to take ownership of their work, make decisions collaboratively, and continuously improve
  • Support the Product Owner and the teams in creating and maintaining a clear, prioritized, and actionable backlog.
  • Ensure the team understands the Why behind Agile – not just the mechanics, but the mindset
  • Adapt Agile principles to fit the unique challenges of a hybrid hardware/software development environment.
  • Facilitate the efforts of our teams in a scaled agile environment with multiple teams
  • Contribute towards the definition and improvement of metrics that help us make better value, sooner, safer and with happier people

Qualifications

The ideal Agile Coach for Brainlab is open, eager, approachable, passionate, collaborative and enjoys working with other people. You are proactive and tackle (not only technical) challenges head-on, and know when it isn’t your problem to solve, in order to ensure the team’s excellence and ultimately the product’s success. We expect our Agile Coaches to live the agile values and principles mixed with high levels of empathy and the ability to quickly build trust and respect. With your experience you will coach the team to improve their technical excellence. Finally, our Agile Coaches know their weaknesses and have a strong orientation to personal and professional development and use the other members of the Agile Coach Community to help them achieve them.

Besides that, you should also have:

  • Successfully completed technical university degree or 2+ years’ relevant work experience
  • 2+ years of experience as Agile Coach
  • Experience with cross-functional teams in software as well as physical product development, preferably in the medical field
  • Experience in coaching, mentoring and facilitation
  • Excellent people and communication skills
  • Good observation and retrospection skills
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical abilities
  • Solid problem-solving skills
  • A self-managed and driven working style
  • Understanding of modern software and hardware development practices (e.g. TDD or pair programming)
  • High work standards to contribute to the high product quality of our medical products
  • Strong English and German language skills to communicate in both languages verbally and in writing
