Research & Development
R&D, split into Surgery and Radiotherapy, consists of almost 300 developers working out of headquarters. R&D drives the development of new products and innovative technologies. In addition to surgery and radiotherapy software, R&D also develops hardware components like instruments, platforms and systems to expand the functionality of our medical software.
As a strategic partner, IT enables efficient business processes, delivers value and helps to make Brainlab a success. The core mission of IT at Brainlab is to provide innovative, high quality services and solutions in various areas, such as Enterprise Architecture, Business Processes and Customer Orientation.
The Customer Support Department is the Brainlab face to the customer. Brainlab service professionals ensure that customer equipment is installed, maintained and serviced and that the clinical staff receives professional clinical and technical assistance.
The Quality Management department translates external legal quality-related requirements into Brainlab procedures and policies, for example, for product development and risk management or for customer complaint handling. In addition, QM enforces adherence to these procedures internally and defends our quality system to external auditors and authorities worldwide.
The Corporate Education division at Brainlab consists of two departments: The Instructional Design Team that develops the material that is used for internal and customer training and the Application Training Team that provides both classroom and onsite training to Brainlab customers.
The international Customer Consulting team, with more than 20 team members around the world, provides services to realize complex or digital operating rooms. These projects typically include consulting, project management, site planning and implementation services, and last until the operating room is ready for clinical use.
Product Knowledge Management
The three teams of Product Knowledge Management focus on the process of developing, sharing and using product related knowledge inside and outside the company: Technical Writing creates documentation for safe and effective use of our products, Translation localizes our products for our global customers and Product Support analyzes and addresses topics from a system design and integration perspective.
Finance & Accounting
The Finance Department supports Brainlab AG and its group subsidiaries by ensuring global financial activities are processed on time and in compliance with local and international requirements. The Finance team works closely with colleagues and external partners including suppliers, customers, investors and tax authorities around the world.
Human Resources handles the affairs of Brainlab employees. While most of their work focuses on delivering service to Brainlab staff, HR also works closely with management to help develop long-term strategies for the growth and development of the company.
The legal department deals with legal issues that may come up in the course of business. Legal team members are qualified lawyers and part of their duties include risk assessment, reviewing of documents, filing for patents to protect our intellectual property and advising other departments on issues that may have legal consequences.
Brainlab Controlling designs and accompanies the management process of defining goals, planning and controlling and, thus, has a joint responsibility with management to reach their objectives. As a business partner, Brainlab Controlling provides process knowledge, data analyses and business intelligence reports to all divisions within the company.
Customer Relationship Management
Our international CRM team is responsible for the implementation and enhancement of our global Customer Relationship Management processes and tools. In close collaboration with General Management, experts from the business units and IT, processes are defined and the corresponding functionalities are implemented.
The Facility Management department makes everyday life at Brainlab offices possible and keeps the whole system running. Reception, the first faces you encounter when you visit Brainlab and the first voices you hear when you call, are also part of this important team.
The Purchasing department provides a wide range of goods at the right time, in the right amount and quality, at a reasonable price. Purchasing works closely with our internal customers to provide them with commercial and operational expertise as well as with external contacts and innovative partners to support their flexibility, creativity and innovations.
Product Management has three main areas of responsibility: product management, which includes product portfolio management and the definition of our next generation products; marketing management, which includes product launches and the creation of product marketing materials; and clinical research management, which drives publications that emphasize the clinical relevance and uniqueness of our products.
Brainlab Sales representatives promote the company, products and services and help clients select solutions that best suit their needs. Their job requires an excellent knowledge and understanding of medical terms and medical technology and the ability to build successful, trusting relationships with customers and partners.
Corporate Marketing builds, evolves and communicates the Brainlab story. Through print, digital and experience media, Corporate Marketing aims to provide consistent, compelling and relevant information about our company and products to healthcare providers, physicians and patients.
The Events team takes care of the conception and realization of national and international conferences, tradeshows, symposiums and workshops, as well as social events for employees. The Events team infuses all of their passion and energy into ensuring that all tradeshows and congresses Brainlab attends are highly organized and adequately communicate the company vision.
The Sales Operations department executes and supports a diverse range of pre-and post-sales activities, working closely with our customer-facing organization and customers as well as other internal departments like finance, warehouse or marketing. Our sales operations employees are key players within the Brainlab organization and are responsible for worldwide sales administration.
The Production Department conducts the final assembly and testing of customer systems and components. Furthermore, Production completes computer installation, repairs, and implements continuous process and productivity improvements to ensure Brainlab always delivers high-quality products in an efficient manner.
The Warehouse Department handles all products delivered from our suppliers and is responsible for internal material flow, stock keeping and the packing and the dispatch of shipments to our customers.
The Export Department sets up global logistical solutions in compliance with customs and regional country regulations. The challenge Export faces is to ensure that our medical technologies arrive at the right customer at the right time.
