Job Description

Our R&D Robotics team is looking for a new Project Engineer. You will be part of a growing motivated team that enables novel robotic surgical procedures in the field of neurosurgery, trauma surgery and orthopedics. Your work includes the complete development cycle of medical devices, from the inception of new concepts over to their implementation up to the clinical assessment of the performance of the resulting device. Your contribution has an impact on daily work in hospitals around the world.

As a Project Engineer in this role, you will

  • accompany and shape the development of surgical robots from first design input to verification and release
  • develop technical concepts together with an interdisciplinary team (Electronics, Mechanics and Software)
  • create complete technical documentation according to international standards and company processes
  • plan, perform and coordinate functional tests of medical devices and components
  • be the coordinative interface between development team and project management: support project decisions in technical and organizational topics
  • communicate with suppliers, development partners, manufacturers and other internal teams (QM, QA, Usability, Purchasing, Legal, Production, Support)
  • take own area of responsibility within the project (e.g. Certification, Risk Management, Requirements Engineering,)

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a technical, engineering or scientific course of study (e.g. medical technology, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, physics, informatics, mathematics) or equivalent working experience
  • Experience with development of medical electrical equipment
  • Experience with technical documentation and standards (e.g. IEC 60601-1, ISO 13485) for medical devices
  • Broad technical understanding and interest in technical concepts
  • Fluent written and spoken English, German is a strong plus
  • Well organized and clearly structured working style
  • High quality standards on documentation
  • Good communication skills
  • Eagerness to be part of an interdisciplinary team where your talent can grow
