Meet Nadia, one of our valuable software engineers, who has been with Brainlab since 2008.
I started in R&D in 2008 as a student while I was writing my diploma thesis on gaining valuable information by using Data Mining techniques. Within the scope of the project, I evaluated statistical log files of our applications in order to provide important information about customer behavior.
The core team of the project I’m working on includes around 8 people, but we work together with several other colleagues across divisions, who contribute to our project and vice versa.
I’m part of one of the teams that develops the first web-based application of Brainlab. Within this scope, I work on the web-based version of the Smartbrush application. Helping to build up the basis for a good user interface framework is fun and motivating.
As a software engineer, you spend most of your time with bugfixes or the implementation of new specifications. But, of course, there are also regular meetings during which you synchronize with your team or with colleagues from other divisions.
The current web project I am working on is the most interesting one so far. Using new technologies and working on something completely new is challenging and enjoyable.
It’s great to work on software that supports physicians in their daily work.
I work together closely with the Usability team to ensure a consistent and understandable user interface.
The great people, the good atmosphere and the challenging work. And of course the good food in our Brainlab restaurant!
I traveled through the USA for 4 weeks. It’s an impressive country with lots of interesting places. I especially liked California.
