Does the title Application Consultant mean anything to you? Martin recently sat down with us to give us his first-hand account of a day in the life of an Application Consultant.
While I was studying at the Münster University of Applied Sciences, I attended an industrial tradeshow where I learned more about Brainlab and its technology through an employee. The innovative medical products and purpose of the company impressed me. I was hired in August 2010 as an Application Consultant for Brainlab Image Guided Surgery technology in the field of orthopedics and trauma. About one and a half years later, further clinical fields were added to my responsibility. I now cover all clinical and technical aspects.
As part of the Brainlab Sales Team, I am responsible for installed Brainlab Systems and for customer inquiries, both clinical and technical. The main tasks on a regular day as an Application consultant are: performing software installations, troubleshooting, providing customer service including trainings, on-site guidance and physician assistance.
The challenges to install new products, to maintain existing installations and seeing the results of common efforts are the most appealing aspects of working in our department. Also the close cooperation with the internal product support team and the R&D division on a regular basis is tremendously satisfying and helps to ensure that clinical and technical experiences are spread throughout our company.
I work in close cooperation with our customers and I get great satisfaction from supporting physicians who treat their patients with Brainlab medical technology. In addition, I work constantly with the R&D division.
It is very fulfilling to see how my work affects patient treatment directly in a positive way and how I can help physicians to open up new treatment possibilities.
