European Society for Radiotherapy & Oncology
ABOUT ESTRO 2017
The European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) Meeting and Exhibition is the premier opportunity for healthcare professionals to receive state-of-the-art continuing medical education, network with colleagues and learn about the latest cancer treatment products and services.
This year’s focus is on multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary components with emphasis on the new opportunities in daily care of patients and in research for all professionals of oncology. Brainlab aligns with that focus by showcasing our latest developments—indication-specific Elements software applications—for radiosurgery of the brain and spine.
Brainlab will also be hosting a Novalis Circle Lunch Symposium on Stereotactic Radiosurgery for Brain Tumors and Brain Metastases on Sunday, May 7 at 1:15 PM.
Meet renowned clinicians who will present the latest technologies and techniques in treatment of brain tumors and metastases.
BRAINLAB ELEMENTS – THE FUTURE OF RADIOSURGERY
At this year’s ESTRO, Brainlab will be presenting a broad range of the Elements portfolio, comprised of indication-specific software applications for cranial, spine and multiple brain metastases radiosurgery. All Elements are designed to streamline and expedite the radiotherapy treatment planning process and include efficient contouring and fusion tools to ensure fast and complete workflows for SRS treatments.
While each Elements application has the common goals of quick planning, sparing organs at risk, and creating highly conformal doses, each is specifically targeted to the unique needs of its respective area. Cranial SRS optimizes planning with an integrated 4π algorithm for patient-tailored treatments. Spine SRS is fully focused on important dose falloff along specific vertebrae for enhanced spinal cord sparing. Multiple Brain Mets SRS makes possible the simultaneous delivery of single-session treatments for multiple metastases.
All Elements can be used with ExacTrac Patient Positioning and Monitoring system, which provides continual intrafractional monitoring with sub-millimetric delivery precision.
DECISION-MAKING TRAMs — TREATMENT RESPONSE ASSESSMENT MAPS
TRAMs —Treatment Response Assessment Maps, a methodology developed in collaboration with Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv—uses MR images to differentiate tumor progression from treatment effects in most cranial tumor patients. TRAMs is the only technology currently available that reliably depicts tumor versus non-tumor tissues.
Physicians at Sheba Medical have published clinical histological validations in over 50 patients with primary or metastatic brain tumors. The clinical outcomes, with the conclusion that TRAMs presents a model-independent approach providing high resolution efficient separation between tumor and non-tumor tissues, will be available at the booth.
SRS CONTOURING ELEMENTS
Intuitive to learn and use, these pre-planning tools are optimized and tailored for physicians. Contouring Elements can be chosen à la carte and provide unique MR-based automatic segmentation that processes multiple MR sequences. Among these are Anatomical Mapping, which labels all tissue classes of MR datasets to identify organs at risk, Cranial Distortion Correction for dataset co-registration using Image Fusion, and Smartbrush which delineates tumors.
20 YEARS OF NOVALIS RADIOSURGERY
Brainlab is proud to be celebrating 20 years of Novalis Radiosurgery. All ESTRO attendees are kindly invited to join us for a champagne reception at booth #2800 at 4PM on Saturday, May 6, 2017 to toast this incredible milestone.
NOVALIS CERTIFIED™ ACCREDITATION PROGRAM
Novalis Certified promotes high standards in SRS and SBRT by helping to ensure the delivery of cranial and body radiosurgery at a level of efficacy and safety that corresponds with best practice clinical workflows.
Built upon the guidance of the Novalis Expert Panel, Novalis Certified supplements other available accreditation programs with a dedicated focus on attaining excellence in SRS and SBRT.
Come by booth #2800 for hands-on demonstrations and to explore our entire range of radiosurgery products.
