Software Engineer - Surface Tracking in Radiotherapy

What to expect

For our growing R&D Radiotherapy division, we are looking for a new software engineer. Working as part of a highly-skilled and agile team, you will maintain, develop and advance one of Brainlab’s core products, ExacTrac Dynamic, an in-room X-Ray and thermal/3D based patient positioning and monitoring system. You will focus on the surface tracking system consisting of a 3D and a thermal camera, which is used to preposition and track the patient during treatment. Thousands of patients around the world are positioned and monitored by the ExacTrac Dynamic system and its predecessors every day allowing them to be treated effectively. 

As a software engineer in our team, your main tasks will be: 

  • Improvements and future developments of the ExacTrac software with focus on the surface tracking system including its algorithms and GPU based implementations
  • Bugfixing, investigating and solving critical cases from the field in cooperation with 3rd level support
  • Accompany the release process of new ExacTrac software

We are looking for proactive people, eager to learn and grow, who bring their own ideas and want to make a difference. 

What you offer

  • Preferably you have a master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent education
  • You enjoy object oriented programming and C++ is a programming language you command well
  • Preferably you have a background in computer vision and image processing plus experiences with computer vision libraries / environments like OpenCV
  • You have basic knowledge and experience with GPU parallel programming using CUDA
  • Fluent English skills, eagerness to learn German and ability to communicate with colleagues from all around the world and different areas of expertise complete your profile
