2018 American Association of Hip & Knee Surgeons (AAHKS) Annual Meeting
The Annual Meeting of the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons addresses a broad array of scientific topics such as implant design, surgical techniques and complications of primary and revision total joint replacement for hip and knee surgeons. Held in Dallas in November each year, the Annual Meeting attracts more than 2,000 attendees.
Digitalization is transforming the world. We are transforming your O.R.
Brainlab offers a full range of solutions for the orthopedic surgical workflow, from pre-op planning and secure image sharing to intraoperative navigation and post-op evaluation.
Visit the orthopedic Digital O.R. in our booth to discover how these integrated solutions can help minimize procedure time¹ and improve functional outcomes².
Get a sneak preview of what’s next in hip navigation and see how using TraumaCad together with our hip navigation software* is changing the total hip replacement game.
Brainlab will also highlight KNEE3 – our smart imageless navigation software that predicts joint stability while quantifying the soft tissue envelope before any bone cuts have been made.
Be sure to also join us for an Industry Symposia on Computer-Assisted Anatomic Alignment featured by Mark Clatworthy, MD and learn more about new alignment techniques while using KNEE3.
Visit Brainlab at Booth #1000 to see the future of orthopedic surgery!
See you at AAHKS in Dallas!

AAHKS Industry Symposia
Mark Clatworthy, MD will present his Anatomic Tibia First, Balanced Femur Approach in Total Knee Arthroplasty using Brainlab KNEE3 Navigation Software. With his technique of cutting the tibia anatomically and placing the femoral implant according to the patient-specific soft-tissue, reduced number of releases, increased functional outcomes and higher patient satisfaction have been shown in the NZ Joint Registry.
Participants will experience KNEE3 the enabling technology that emphasizes patient specific soft-tissue alignment while maintaining and verifying mechanical alignment boundaries.
“Using KNEE3 is a significant advance enabling a more balanced TKA. Over the last four years I developed an anatomic tibia, balanced femur technique which is showing increased functional outcomes. I look forward welcoming you in Dallas to discuss those results.”

Computer-Assisted Anatomic Alignment
Mark Clatworthy, MD is an orthopaedic knee surgeon from Auckland, New Zealand with 14 years of experience in software-guided surgery. He was an early adopter of Brainlab knee navigation and started using it in 2004. Since then he routinely used this technique while performing over 2000 navigated TKAs.
