ASTRO 2017
American Society for Radiation Oncology
About ASTRO
This year’s 59th Annual Meeting of the American Society for Radiation Oncology will be held in the San Diego Convention Center and is the world’s most important meeting for the radiation oncology community.
Under the theme «The healing art and science of radiation oncology», not only the scientific presentations but also the industry exhibition will demonstrate the possibilities and techniques supporting the intent to cure cancer. Increasing complexity of delivery and the rapid evolution of advances in the application, technologies and methodologies of radiation oncology make it imperative that radiation oncology professionals remain up-to-date.
Brainlab will align itself with this theme by showcasing the Elements portfolio—indication-specific software applications for use in the treatment of cranial and spine tumors and multiple brain metastases.
What’s New at ASTRO in San Diego?
At this year’s ASTRO, Brainlab will be presenting a broad range of the Elements portfolio for radiosurgery (SRS), comprised of indication-specific applications, including software for brain metastases and cranial and spine, the latter two of which have recently earned FDA clearance.
All Elements are designed to streamline and expedite the radiotherapy treatment planning process and include efficient contouring and fusion tools to ensure fast and complete workflows for SRS treatments.
While each Elements application has the common goals of quick planning, sparing organs at risk, and creating highly conformal doses, each is specifically targeted to the unique needs of its respective area.
CRANIAL SRS
Cranial SRS optimizes planning with an integrated 4π algorithm for patient-tailored treatments.
SPINE SRS
Spine SRS is fully focused on important dose falloff along specific vertebrae for enhanced spinal cord sparing.
MULTIPLE BRAIN METS SRS
Multiple Brain Mets SRS makes possible the simultaneous delivery of single-session treatments for multiple metastases.
SRS CONTOURING ELEMENTS
Intuitive to learn and use, these pre-planning tools are optimized and tailored for physicians. Contouring Elements can be chosen à la carte and provide unique MR-based automatic segmentation that processes multiple MR sequences. Among these are Anatomical Mapping, which labels all tissue classes of MR datasets to identify organs at risk, Cranial Distortion Correction* for dataset co-registration using Image Fusion, and Smartbrush, which delineates tumors.
EXACTRAC PATIENT POSITIONING AND MONITORING
All Elements can be used with ExacTrac Patient Positioning and Monitoring system, which provides continual intrafractional monitoring with sub-millimetric delivery precision.
Experience the versatility and compatibility of ExacTrac by visiting the Elekta both #1917 in which a life-sized model system demonstrates the integration of the ExacTrac stereotactic frameless radiosurgery system with the Versa HD System.
Join us at booth #1331 to explore our range of innovations for radiosurgery and radiotherapy.
See you at ASTRO in San Diego!
