Software Engineer - Radiotherapy Positioning & Monitoring

For our growing R&D Radiotherapy division, we are looking for a new software engineer. Working as part of a highly-skilled and agile team, you will maintain and develop one of Brainlab’s core products, ExacTrac Dynamic, an in-room X-Ray and thermal/3D based patient positioning and monitoring system. Thousands of patients around the world are positioned and monitored by the ExacTrac Dynamic system and its predecessors every day, allowing them to be treated effectively.

As a software engineer in this team, your main tasks will be:

  • involvement in the development of new components of future versions of our ExacTrac software
  • specifying, coding, testing and finally supporting the first installation of the new product
  • responsibility for investigating and solving critical cases from the field in cooperation with 3rd level support
  • accompany the release process of bug-fixed versions of the current ExacTrac software


  • preferably you have a master's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent education
  • experience with (object oriented) programming
  • practical experience working with C++ and common coding design patterns
  • experience with GUI development with React would be beneficial
  • preferably basic knowledge in Python and TypeScript
  • strong analytical skills for bug analysis and architecture questions
  • ability to communicate in English, German is a plus
  • ability to write technical documentation and reports in English
