1 Preoperative scans
Having easy access to preoperative scans is the
first step to making the entire surgical process
more efficient. Trade in outdated methods of
transferring scans, like CDs, for healthcare IT
integration. Easily access preop images in the
office or directly from the operating room.

}
2 Surgical planning
Once you have easily accessed your patient
images, you can plan the surgery with automated
software, which allow surgeons to enhance
images by highlighting organs at risk, outlining
the tumor to be resected, planning the approach,
fusing different scan modalities together and more.

3 Interdisciplinary discussions
Now it’s time to discuss the completed plan
with the team. Digitalizing the review process
allows interdisciplinary teams to review the
case together, even remotely, with secure
cloud access to patient files. Advanced digital
collaboration tools like mixed reality further
enhance case review.

4 Patient consultation
The team knows the plan, and now you’re
ready to discuss the upcoming surgery with
the patient. Help them understand their
diagnosis and procedure by showing them
3D visualizations of their own anatomy
and the planned surgery on screen or with
spatial computing devices.

5 Before surgery begins
Having plans and patient data
available in the operating room
helps your entire department stay
organized. With digital operating
room integration, patient data
can be automatically pre-fetched
the night before and the patient
checklist digitalized to facilitate an
efficient start to surgery.

6 Surgical data setup
Now that the patient-specific data is
ready in the O.R., it can be routed to best
suit the preference of the surgical team.
Digital data management systems in the
operating room allow patient information,
images and preop plans to be displayed
as needed across all connected screens.

7 Digitally empowered surgery
Now, surgery can begin. There are so many
digital technologies available to support
surgeons and their teams intraoperatively:
Surgical navigation devices and software,
augmented reality microscope visualization,
robotic assistance and intraoperative imaging,
to name a few.

8 Postop Documentation
Surgery is now complete and it’s time to document
the procedure. With a digitally integrated operating
room, surgical data and documentation can be
saved directly to the patient’s file automatically.
Once saved, they can be accessed from anywhere
through the hospital archives.

9 Patient follow-up
An ever-important step after surgery is
following up with the patient. With digital
technologies, you can review and discuss
surgical outcomes with user friendly
tools that help patients improve their
understanding of the results.
