Thanks to the support of the charitable organization Right.Brain Foundation e.V., the Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) in Tanzania was equipped with Brainlab spine surgery solutions over a year ago. Between 2023 and December 2024, this technology has already been successfully used in 51 surgeries.

The MOI’s equipment has since been expanded to include cranial surgery solutions. The institute’s surgeons report positive experiences in spinal surgery and are already seeing the first benefits in neurosurgery. These tools assist medical personnel in navigating the cranial area of the patient and enable surgeons to work with great precision and detail. As part of the 11th MOI Global Neurosurgery Course, local clinical staff were trained in the use of the newly installed cranial surgery solutions.

Brainlab colleagues Kevin Kuhn, Advanced Project Engineer, and Marek Soczynski, Application Specialist, personally conducted the training and supported the clinical team in the introduction of the new Brainlab technology.
