High resolution beam shaping for the targeting of even small lesions with Novalis Radiosurgery program

High Resolution Beam Shaping

To obtain the dose fall-off necessary to treat challenging radiosurgery indications, Novalis features a dedicated high definition beam shaping device. Radiosurgery targets are usually much smaller than lesions treated by conventional radiotherapy indications and often located near critical structures that demand increased conformity.  Novalis Radiosurgery centers all share access to an integrated collimation and treatment planning solution designed and commissioned to deliver elevated radiosurgical accuracy.²

  • High-resolution multi-leaf collimator accurately mirrors the contour of the tumor
  • Constant adaptation of the beam shape with steep dose fall-off at lesion boundaries
  • Leaves ranging between 2.5mm and 4mm can reduce dose to healthy tissue
  • Supports stereotactic body radiosurgery when integrated with other advanced Brainlab tools
Frameless radiosurgery with X-Ray verification as part of Novalis Radiosurgery with ExacTrac Patient Positioning System

Continuous Frameless X-Ray Verification

Frameless positioning and alignment control are vital image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) capabilities in the maintenance of consistent and end to end treatment accuracy. With ExacTrac, cancer centers get a highly automated IGRT system which enables precise patient setup and verification in a simple streamlined workflow.

  • Continuous tracking of patient movement, including X-Ray verification and correction, throughout the whole treatment
  • Proprietary 6D fusion and robotic alignment in a quick, automated process
  • Room-based setup for anytime imaging with two kV-X-Ray units recessed in the floor even at rotated table angles
