About AAPM 2018

The American Association of Physicists in Medicine offers symposia, panel discussions, courses and workshops on the latest medical physics topics. The industrial exhibition gives the opportunity to connect with industry partners, learn about new products and services and seek technical support.

Brainlab, as an innovator and forward-thinking leader in the field of radiosurgery, is perfectly aligned with this year’s meeting theme of «Beyond the Future!» We’ll be showcasing our newest developments – indication-specific Elements software – for highly precise radiosurgery of the brain and spine.

Brainlab will also be hosting a Novalis Circle Symposium on Radiosurgical Innovations for Brain Metastases on Sunday, July 29th, 2018 from 6:00 — 8:00pm. See below for more details.

Brainlab Elements Planning Software for Radiosurgery

At this year’s AAPM, Brainlab will be presenting a broad range of the Elements portfolio, comprised of indication-specific software applications for cranial, spine and multiple brain metastases radiosurgery. All Elements are designed to streamline and expedite the radiotherapy treatment planning process and include efficient contouring and fusion tools to ensure fast and complete workflows for SRS treatments. Fully automated, they enable experts—as well as less experienced users—to achieve consistent plan quality.

While each Elements application has the common goal of quick planning, sparing organs at risk, and creating highly conformal doses, each is specifically targeted to the unique needs of its respective area.

Cranial SRS optimizes planning with an integrated 4π algorithm for patient-tailored treatments.

Spine SRS is fully focused on important dose falloff along specific vertebrae for enhanced spinal cord sparing.

Multiple Brain Mets SRS makes possible the simultaneous delivery of single-session treatments for multiple metastases. More than 1000 patients have already been successfully treated worldwide with great clinical results.

All Elements are complemented by ExacTrac Patient Positioning and Monitoring system, which provides continual intrafractional monitoring with submillimetric delivery precision.

Furthermore, ExacTrac is linac-independent. At this year’s AAPM, we will be displaying integration options with linacs from various vendors.

Come to booth #933 for a hands-on demo.
