(Junior) Design Engineer - Radiosurgery

What to expect

For our R&D Positioning Profit Center we are looking for a new design engineer. You will be part of a motivated team developing hardware components for our ExacTrac system used for patient positioning and monitoring in radiosurgery. Your contribution has an impact on daily work in hospitals around the world.

Your main tasks are:

  • working together in a team developing medical products
  • taking own areas of responsibility within the project
  • developing components for radiosurgery medical products from idea to market launch including:
    • systematic development of concepts
    • design of a wide variety of mechanical components, e.g. from covers and mechanical holders up to high precision calibration phantoms
    • prototyping and testing
    • create technical documents according to international and company standards
    • selection of suppliers in close cooperation with our purchasing department
  • maintaining activities for documentation of medical products
  • being responsible for product quality and manufacturing during whole product life-time
  • driving the development process through own ideas and innovations for better products

What you offer

  • education in engineering or related discipline, or equivalent working experience
  • enthusiasm for technology and creative mind  
  • ability to develop systematically concepts
  • experience in mechanical engineering and ideally in the use of Creo 3D CAD software with Windchill
  • knowledge of basic manufacturing methods for metal and plastics (e.g. milling, turning and molding)
  • knowledge of drawing tolerances
  • strong written and oral communication skills in English
  • good German is a strong plus
  • well organized and clearly structured work
