Project Engineer - Mixed Reality & Viewer

What to expect

The Mixed Reality Viewer from Brainlab deepens insights into patient anatomy. With a head-mounted display, this software frees patient data from the 2D screen and brings it into the room. Surgeons can move around and interact with medical data as never before. Mixed reality is part of the Viewer software application, a Windows-based software used for medical image review in hospitals all around the world. More information can be found here:

For our R&D Viewer team at Brainlab we are now looking for a new Project Engineer. You will be part of a fast-paced and motivated team that develops software solutions for medical image viewing on desktop computers, surgical navigation systems and mixed reality glasses. Your work will include the complete development cycle of medical devices, from the inception of new concepts to their implementation to the clinical assessment of the resulting device’s performance. Your contribution will have an impact on daily work in hospitals around the world.

Your main tasks will include:

  • Coordination of medical software development in a larger team with project manager and software developers
  • Communication with development partners, manufacturers and other internal teams (Quality Management, Usability & Design, Verification Teams)
  • Full responsibility within a defined project
  • Identification, establishment and drive of cooperation with international external partners on system, component and service level
  • Performance and/or coordination of functional tests of medical devices
  • Creation of complete technical documentation according to international and company standards
  • Maintenance activities for existing medical products

What you offer

  • Education in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent working experience
  • Good communication and coordination skills
  • Fluent written and spoken English; German is a strong plus
