Navigating The Future Of Neuro And Spine Technology
Brainlab hosts Neuro and Spine Symposium as platform for knowledge exchange
In order to promote the exchange of information, Brainlab recently held a European Neuro and Spine Symposium attended by nearly 100 international clinicians at its headquarters in Munich. The two-day symposium brought together physicians with varying backgrounds in both spinal and cranial neurosurgery to discuss best practices, clinical experiences and technical advancements.
“Brainlab strives to provide not only innovative technology but also a platform on which to discuss the use of this technology and the impact it has in the operating room,” commented Nils Ehrke, President of Sales Europe at Brainlab. “We want our customers and their patients to realize the full-potential of our products.”
Presentations focused on spinal surgery showed the benefits of utilizing different imaging modalities before, during and after surgery, as well as patient registration possibilities to simplify workflows. Cranial presentations highlighted pre-operative planning using Brainlab Elements technology and intraoperative setups with microscope-based augmented reality and electromagnetic navigation.
“I am always happy to be part of such courses that provide advancements to improve not only our daily work but more importantly, patient outcomes,” commented Prof. Bernhard Meyer, Technical University of Munich and scientific co-host of the event.
With over 5,300 navigation and O.R. integration systems installed worldwide, Brainlab has established itself as a leader in the surgical navigation field. Brainlab regularly offers its customers in all fields the opportunity to participate in a range of educational symposia, classroom courses and webinars throughout the year.
