About SRS Registry

Background Information

The Stereotactic Radiosurgery Registry (SRS Registry) is a joint project of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), NeuroPoint Alliance (NPA) and Brainlab. It has been developed to collect data on the SRS treatment of:

  • Brain metastases
  • Benign brain tumors
  • Arteriovenous malformations (AVMs)
The registry objectives are to:

  • Define national patterns of care in radiosurgery
  • Improve healthcare outcomes
  • Support informed decision making

The AANS created the NPA as a not-for-profit corporation to coordinate projects involving the acquisition, analysis and reporting of clinical data.

Overview of Data Collection

Data fields for the SRS Registry are defined by a scientific committee organized by the NPA. The registry collects data on various patient events, such as SRS/SRT treatments, WBRT, surgical resections and follow-up examinations.

The collected data includes:

SRS/SRT Treatments Patient Baselines and Follow-Up
  • Lesion volumes and locations
  • Dose distribution for treated lesions and organs at risk (OARs)
  • Dose fractionation
  • Treatment device configuration details
  • Lesion volume changes and recurrence
  • Neurological examination findings
  • Patient quality of life measures
  • Adverse events
  • Survival rates

For further information on data collected, refer to the NPA Stereotactic Radiosurgery Registry Data Dictionary.
