85th American Association of Neurological Surgeons Annual Scientific Meeting
ABOUT AANS 2017
The AANS Annual Scientific Meeting is the world’s premier neurosurgical event, with more than 3,000 health care professionals expected to attend. The theme for 2017 is “Neurosurgery: A World of Innovation”.
Brainlab is proud to live up to the expectations set by this year’s AANS Meeting and showcase innovations in both of its major neurosurgical domains: Elements software applications¹ for procedure planning, including deep brain stimulation (DBS), and image guided surgery, including device integration as well as intraoperative CT and 3D C-Arm imaging.
IMAGE GUIDED SURGERY
Experience the all-new microscope navigation software² from Brainlab. Partnered with ZEISS, this integrated software features augmented reality views never seen before on Curve™ Image Guided Surgery.
Discover the integration of bk5000 Ultrasound system with Kick® Purely Navigation, and see how Brainlab ultrasound integration holds the potential to define a new standard in intraoperative imaging presented by our partner BK Ultrasound at booth 2115.
Electromagnetic (EM) navigation is an established technology for Brainlab ENT systems, and will soon be also available as an add-on to the latest generation of Curve, enabling smooth procedures with its workflow-oriented EM software and complete remote control capabilities.
Be sure to join us for a demo of our latest intelligent instrument holder technology for navigated spinal surgery³. With a navigated instrument inserted into its dedicated frontend mount, positional tracking allows for quick and precise image-guided alignment.
Recent additions to the Elements à la carte software modules, such as Elements Fibertracking and Atlas Segmentation, continue to position Elements as the state-of-the-art planning applications for image guided surgery. Expert demos will be available at the booth to guide you through various planning workflows.
For DBS procedures, Elements Trajectory Planning, new Basal Ganglia Segmentation and Stereotaxy³ combine all relevant aspects of treatment planning while Elements Lead Localization automatically detects implanted DBS electrodes based on intraoperative CT images. Partnered with Elekta and Boston Scientific, you can also learn more about latest arcs and implants when visiting the Brainlab booth.
Also featured will be Quentry, the cloud-based service that allows healthcare professionals to store medical images and data online and share them securely with other clinicians. New this year are Quentry analytic tools³, specifically designed for evaluation of brain tumors over time and to track and visualize the outcome of treatment for a specific patient for comparison with a similar population.
