Quentry Beyond Image Sharing

2013-11-12

Healthcare professionals have an increased need to coordinate patient care and communicate treatment plans with colleagues and referring physicians. To address these needs, Brainlab has developed Quentry®, a secure online service for medical image sharing and collaboration. Quentry allows users to more effectively manage images and collaborate with clinical sub-specialties and outside institutions.

With connectivity to Brainlab planning applications, Buzz™ Digital O.R. and image guided surgery systems, Quentry goes beyond basic sharing. It supports individual physicians and clinical specialties in many ways:
  • Replacement of manual CD distribution
  • Reduction of repeated scans
  • Fast and timely access to medical images
  • Flexible and remote access to patient data
  • Connection to Brainlab planning software applications
Quentry is available in monthly subscription packages that can be tailored according to the needs of individual physicians or clinics. It can be expanded with additional online storage, PACS integration and connection with Brainlab planning software applications. CLINICAL USE CASE GROSSHADERN—MUNICH UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL Referring physicians collaborate using cloud computing, providing a crucial time advantage in cardiac surgery and neurosurgery. “Quentry is a quantum leap forward for fast and flexible communication in the clinical environment – a future-oriented development”, says Dr. Pichlmaier. The introduction of Quentry replaces the previously time-consuming task, where cardiac patient data was burned on a CD and sent to the hospital by taxi. This resulted in delayed operation dates, repeat exams, and in emergencies, interventions had to be carried out without previously seeing the medical images relevant for planning. The result was a potential risk for patients, unnecessary costs and more work for the hospital. The new online solution from Brainlab integrates seamlessly into the routine clinical workflow, enables greater cost efficiency and provides the hospitals with an efficient technological basis to offer their medical expertise as a service for other doctors and hospitals.
