Job Description

As a Software Engineer in our Snke Theater team, you will be involved in the development process from the architectural design until final product launch of products for the Digital Operating Room. In this position, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining intuitive and fast software applications that visualize and enhance the information surgeons need in the operating room. Your applications will assist surgeons around the globe and be displayed on devices ranging from large 84” 4k displays to tablets or smartphones. As part of a multi-disciplinary team including experienced Software Engineers and mentors, you will use your programming skills to create frontend application software that improves surgical outcomes.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Design and implementation of software that visualizes medical and non-medical information live in the operating room using technologies such as HTML5 / JavaScript / Typescript / CSS / React / Redux and REST APIs.
  • Human-machine interface implementation and design in cooperation with clinical and usability experts
  • Close cooperation and communication with software engineering specialists from other R&D teams
  • Release subsystems and modules according to medical standards for European and US markets
  • While working mainly on the front end, there is always the link to the C++/C# based backend development

Qualifications

  • You have an education in Computer Science, Media Informatics or related discipline, or equivalent working experience
  • You have proficiency in modern frontend technologies (React, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS)
  • Preferably, you are also confident with Cypress for automated testing
  • You want to be part of a high-skilled team and make a difference with your code every day
  • Fluent English, eagerness to learn German and ability to communicate with colleagues from all around the world and different areas of specialty complete your profile
