Klinikum Eberswalde is the first clinic to use ExacTrac Dymanic Surface in the German-speaking market
GLG Werner Forßmann Klinikum Eberswalde in Brandenburg is the first hospital in the German-speaking region to use ExacTrac Dynamic Surface® (ETDS) for the treatment of its patients.
ExacTrac Dynamic Surface is the latest Brainlab product to position and monitor radiotherapy patients and was specifically developed for surface-guided radiotherapy (SGRT).
Since April 2021, the hospital has been using the Brainlab complete solution, ExacTrac Dynamic with x-ray verification, on one of its two linear accelerators. Based on their positive experiences, the team led by Ralph Schrader, Chief Physician of the Department of Radiotherapy at the GLG Werner Forßmann Klinikum Eberswalde, decided to implement ETDS for surface-guided radiotherapy on the second linear accelerator starting in June 2024. This allows Eberswalde hospital patients to receive precise treatment with ETDS because it provides continuous patient monitoring at every step of the treatment process with a single camera unit. This even includes monitoring during CBCT imaging and treatment during the breath-hold phase.
“The new technology offers patients high-quality, precise and radiotherapy. At the same time, the clinic can handle the patient volume more efficiently with the new technical systems,” says Schrader, “notably because the software interface is very intuitive and easy to use – our entire team enjoys working with these solutions.”
