What is your educational background?
I studied Physiology, Dental Medicine and Biomedical Engineering.
What is your nationality?
What languages can you speak?
English and German.
How does your department contribute to Brainlab?
I work with Viewer, which creates beautiful 3D visualizations of medical imaging data and automatic, indication-specific view layouts. Many software applications at Brainlab use Viewer visualizations. We have many projects we work on together with other teams.
Can you give a brief overview of what you do?
I coordinate clinical cooperations and consultant contracts, facilitating feedback from clinicians throughout the product development process. In addition, I appraise clinical literature for validation of new products, and work intensively with imaging datasets, understanding the pathology, outlining anatomic structures, and testing our software across different clinical indications and scan qualities.
What inspired you to go into the medical software & technology field?
This sprung out of the desire to help patients, which also led my brother and sister into medicine. I wanted a medical career that was more compatible with international travel and raising a family.
As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be a Professor of English Literature! I love books so much, though, that I thought studying them would be like analyzing the punch line of a joke and take the joy out it.
