Software Engineer - General Surgery


What to expect

For our growing General Surgery team we are looking for a new Software Developer. General Surgery is a relatively new department, which was established to drive forth Brainlab’s ambitions to advance into new medical territories. Our current focus is set on visceral and vascular surgery, where we are closely cooperating with physicians to evaluate novel surgical concepts and workflows.

As a member of our General Surgery team you will:

  • transfer ideas and concepts into (conceptual) prototypes
  • support us with the execution of feasibility studies
  • be involved in upcoming product development projects (conception, development, testing, documentation)

You will be part of a highly motivated, dynamic team and have the opportunity to explore new medical territories with us.

What you offer

  • minimum of 2 years experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar
  • profound knowledge of software development, based on a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics or a related discipline
  • experience in application development
  • strong communication skills and willingness to closely collaborate with colleagues from other departments, surgeons and external partners

Preferred qualifications:

  • experience in Image Segmentation, Ultrasound Imaging, IGS, Image Processing and visualization
  • experience with C++, DICOM, HL7, HIS, IHE and related data formats/technologies
  • knowledge or interest in the area of web development, such as HTML5 and JavaScript
